my career path/my life in a few paragraphs...

BLOOM    2009 - 2014

this family owned garden shop, in South Tampa, FL is responsible for my foundational knowledge of botanical life. in my five years there, I learned how to name, care for, and identify a large part of the plant kingdom; this information was invaluable to me, growing my interest in the botanics, and this job as a huge influcing factor - leading me to change the centre area of my studies & I graduated with a bachelors of science with a focus in botany and mycology.

if you click on the hyperlink above, you will see the creativity that inspired me. living arrangments and curated gardens. I had a list of private cientelle, of which I would beautify their homes and gardens - and I had a daily opportunity to make statement pieces.

COLORADO  2014 - 2015

I moved to CO after securing a growing position in their new budding marijuana industry because of my training in growing and caring for plants and my knowledge of plant pathogens. I was head grower of a small crop for half a year before I decided, at that time, it wasn't for me. I moved on, to a start up company called CC GROW. if you click the hyperlink above you will see what they were trying to do - a plant encyclopeadia called Phytotheca. a truly wonderful and amibitious idea, categorizing each plant and species - with information from seed to harvest...all in one place. I grew weary of the computer lifestyle, and I felt phony not having grown so many things myself.

WHIDBEY ISLAND    2015

enter the farm internship. here I learned how to grow beyond organic vegetables and flowers from start to finish, on a commercial scale for one full season. this is where I started experimenting with cut flowers. I starting doing work for local resturants, helped our flower queen Valerie with a few weddings, and made weekly bouquets for locals at the farm stand. R.I.P. Linda ily.

** MOVED TO SCOTLAND **

PLANET FLOWERS    2015 - 2017

one of the biggest event florists in Scotland; my time spent working here goes unmatched in opportunities. here I was able to work with clients such as Macallan, Dior, The Open, and the Queen herself (well her people if I'm honest). I installed work on several occations in Edinburgh's Balmoral Hotel - and regularly outfitted venues like Dundas Castle, Linlithgow Palace, the National Museum, the Signet Library, and Gleneagles. I learned so much about the industry here, it was like binging on experience. my skills in bouquets, arrangements, and wire working were solidfied here - mostly becuase I did nothing but that on a mass scale daily. and I was able to note my natural ability for styling and installation.

RETAIL FLORISTRY    2017 - 2019

BANK'S FLOWERS
ROSE & AMMI

I see alot of parallels between this and say perhaps being a chef. people come in, you make then something, they pay you and leave. but what lasts is the effect you can have on these individuals, and the inspiration it offers the community. when you work in retail floristry, you're often put under the stylistic choices and boundaries of the owner. my ability to practice control and to deliver consistent and branded work was honed here. because of these constraints, and classic practice - I really began to cultivate my own style.

AQUIRED MASTER'S IN PHILOSOPHY     2019-2020

FIRST ATTEMPT AT STARTING LILY     2020

ANTHER FLOWERS     2020-2021

I wasn't able or ready to commit to LILY the first time around - even though I wanted to, covid was in full effect & I was finishing my masters. this job was offered to me, a new business - newly established and alot of room for growth and development, so I said yes! the basics of the business model were set - online only, each week a new design (medium and large), and custom arrangements. I headed up the floristry side of this business, designing for the trifecta of christmas, valentines day, and mothers day. each time we sold out, selling an esitmated 2,500 bouquets during the 10 day period that those times encapuslate alone. this was wholesale floristry, it was repetitive, but it was skill developing. I also established warehouse practices and helped to secure a contract with the popular clothing brand pretty little thing. I ended up leaving to start my own business, which has always been attempting to sprout.
